News from the Translation Bureau

As part of the Government of Canada’s procurement strategy for linguistic services, the Translation Bureau would like to inform you that, in accordance with established Government of Canada procurement rules, the next Request for Supply Arrangement (RFSA) is scheduled to be posted on April 21, 2017. Like previous RFSAs, this tool will be used to issue Supply Arrangements (SAs) to qualified suppliers.

RFSAs are one of the methods used by the Bureau to ensure it has the capacity necessary to fulfil its mandate delivering language services to the Government of Canada.

The Translation Bureau recently held a series of meetings with stakeholders’ representatives for the language sector (industry and professional associations). To date, these meetings have generated constructive discussions and additional sessions will be held in the coming weeks. Bureau management would like to reaffirm its commitment to collaboratively reviewing procurement mechanisms and processes with a view to making changes, where necessary, to ensure the delivery of high-quality language services.

The Bureau will continue to communicate with industry and language profession stakeholders on a regular basis to keep them abreast of relevant events and initiatives. For information, please contact Michel Mercier at [email protected] or at 819-934-1889.
