Post-editing - Evolution of Translation Service?
This workshop will provide an introduction to post-editing from the perspective of a translation customer. Susanne Hempel who works at SAP Language Services will share how machine translation is being introduced at her department and how this impacts their collaboration with the SAP translation suppliers. She will give a brief overview of the different types of machine translation, the current key trends and explain how post-editing can complement and improve machine-generated translation outputs. In the main part of the workshop, she wants to discuss with the participants how translators can approach such requests for post-editing and what can be acceptable and mutually beneficial working conditions.
