Workshop on Machine Translation
Join presenter Susanne Hempel as she provides an introduction to the field of machine translation (MT) systems, the components and common concepts.
"Together, we will examine what MT systems are available on the market, which ones are for consumers, and which ones have relevance for professional translators," she explains. "We will also analyze the strengths and weaknesses of MT systems."
The workshop will also include:
- - a brief overview of how MT has evolved since the 1950s
- - an examination of the current state of affairs
- - a discussion of evolving trends
- - a review of the impact on professional translators and interpreters now and into the future
